What we collect, and why.

What we collect
The form on this site asks for five things and collects what you enter: your trade, your approximate annual revenue, and your name, mobile number and email address.
After that we offer a set of optional questions — your business name, who currently keeps your books, how far behind they are, the software you use, what is currently costing you, and anything you want to add in the free-text box. You can leave every one of them blank. If you answer any of them, we add those answers to the record already created by the first five.
We also record the time you submitted, the page you submitted from, the page that referred you, and your browser user agent.
If you become a client, we receive read-only access to financial accounts you authorize. Read-only means we can see transactions and cannot move funds.
Why we collect it
To prepare for the call, to do the free month of bookkeeping you asked for, and to send you the finished work. That is the whole purpose.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or lead resellers.
Who can see it
Our team, for the purpose of doing the work, and the US CPA who reviews and signs off on your books.
We use third-party services to run the site and the business: hosting, scheduling, our customer relationship system, and analytics. Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.
Analytics and cookies
We use analytics to understand which pages get used and where people leave. This records page views, how far you scroll, and which steps of the enquiry form you complete — never the answers you type.
We do not run advertising trackers on this site and we do not build advertising profiles.
The scheduling calendar is embedded from Google Calendar and sets its own cookies when you interact with it. Google’s privacy policy governs that interaction.
You can block or delete these cookies in your browser at any time. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.
What stays on your own device
Some things are stored in your browser and never sent to us. Which trade you looked at and which guides you opened, so the site can suggest something you have not read and skip a question you have already answered. Anything you type into a calculator, so you do not have to enter your payroll twice.
None of that reaches our servers, none of it is attached to a name, and none of it is shared with anyone. It is on your device and it is yours. The button at the bottom of this page erases all of it immediately.
How long we keep it
Enquiry information is retained while we are in contact and for a reasonable period afterwards. Client financial records are retained for the periods required by applicable accounting and tax rules.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under state privacy law.
If you have asked us to delete records we are required to retain for tax or accounting purposes, we will tell you which records those are and why.
Security
Access to financial accounts is read-only wherever the institution supports it. Access to client records is limited to the people doing or reviewing the work.
Erase what this browser remembers
Everything described under “what stays on your own device” can be removed right now, without asking anyone.
Clears your trade, your reading history and any calculator figures from this browser. It does not affect information you have already sent us — email us for that.
